For this assignment, I chose to photograph still life. I took many different photos around my house, but these were my best. I tried taking these photos at many different angles to get a different perspective on them. I made sure I had the main point of the photo in focus. In this assignment, I learned how to get better at using manual mode. I also learned how to use the flash without a big glare in the photo. Using manual mode, I experimented changing the aperture and shutter speed. I also edited a few of them in photoshop. I had a lot of fun shooting these photos

For this assignment I will capture photos that demonstrate motion. I will use a fast shutter speed and a wide aperture to capture this. I will try taking photos in auto and manual. Some photos that inspired me are - I think these photos are great examples of motion because they show the subject. The rain photo inspires me the most because it will be a challenge to take a photo like this. I will have to use manual mode to use a fast shutter speed. Photographing motion will be one of the hardest assignments because I have to use manual mode, and make sure all of my settings are correct. I can't wait to challenge myself!
In this assignment, we had to take an original photo, put it into photoshop and make changes. We had to do at least one car, and the second photo was our choice. The tools we used are the clone tool, cropping, selection tools, layers, and levels. In this assignment I learned how to use the clone tool and got a review on the selection tool. I have experience in photoshop, but I got more experience from this assignment. This taught me how I can retouch my photos. I had a lot of fun and loved to learn more in photoshop.
In this assignment, we got to pick a topic to take photos of. I choose to take photos of food. We have to display our best photo, and five more of our good work. I got creative and made all the food myself for the photos.
In this assignment we had to use photoshop to create popart. We had to take a photo in Photo Booth as our first photo to use. For the second poppet photo, we could use any photo. We had to use filters, moving layers, resizing canvas, etc. In this assignment, I learned how to use threshold dialogs and how to resize the canvas. I have had previous experience in photoshop, so this was mostly a review for me. I learned how to use more tools on photoshop to create better photos. I got better at changing the colors of photos. I can use these skills I learned in photoshop later in the trimester, or in any other art class.
Shutter Speed Examples In these photos I was trying to show motion blur using different shutter speeds. The lower number, the more blurry the picture will be. In the first photo, the shutter speed is lower, so the movement is blurry. In the fourth photo, the movement is not blurry because it has a higher shutter speed. Aperture Examples Although you cannot tell in these photos, I changed the apertures to display the depth of field. In the first photo the white cup is in focus, while the clear one is not. In the fourth photo both of the cups are in focus. What I learned:
A fast shutter speed will freeze the motion. A slow shutter speed will create the motion to be blurry. A larger aperture lets more light in and allows a smaller depth of field. A smaller aperture allows less light in, creating a bigger depth of field. For my first shooting assignment, I will be focusing on food. I would like to get better at taking photos of food from different perspective/angles. Some photos I found online that gave me inspiration are: I think these photos are a great examples of the different perspectives in the photo. Food can also bring a lot of color and "life" to your photo. I love trying new foods, so I am going to try to take many different types of photos for this assignment.
